Terminal 4, Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, Phoenix Arizona
Introduction
This is my review of American Airlines Admirals Club in Concourse B of Phoenix’s Sky Harbor Airport.
American Airlines operate all their flights from Terminal 4 of PHX, and this is the larger of the Admirals Clubs – and certainly in my view the better!
I’ve not traveled through Phoenix that much, and I was under the impression it was a bit more of a ‘major’ hub for American than it actually is – or at least judging from its lounge quality.

Opening Hours
The lounge is open daily from 06:00 to 20:00.
Entry Conditions
This is where I always get a bit confused!
OneWorld Sapphire or OneWorld Emerald members are in!
Flying ‘qualifying’ for access such as Transcontinental and Domestic, you’re in…….I think!
Admirals Club members are also in.
You may be able to pay on the door for around $79.
I am sure there are many other ways to gain access, but these are generally the ways you can get in.
How to Get There
This lounge is located in Concourse B.
Finding gate B4, you will see a sign for the Admirals Club, and then an elevator next to it.
Once out of the elevator, you’ll walk around the corridor and see the doors to the lounge in front of you.
Layout
As Admirals Clubs go, and bearing in mind that Phoenix is supposed to be a Hub for American, this is the biggest lounge that have in Phoenix – bit its tiny by comparison of say Charlotte’s D-Gates Admirals Club.
The lounge has mostly casual/sofa seating around the bar area.
There are a few high-tables for working, and also some dining seats – but those areas are pretty small.
There is also a small ‘business area’, complete with printer (a very good printer). I quite like this area – but can imagine it gets noisy with Americans on their Webex calls, after about 9am!
Food and Drink
Drinks
At the time I visited, it was around 07:00, and I’d just landed on a red-eye, so I wasn’t too fussed about having anything more than water.
But if you wanted anything more or different, then you can use the self-serve coffee at the end of the lounge – or order from the bar. Although even the bar is pretty small with just 3 bar stools!
Food
Not being a breakfast kind of person, the breakfast offering for me was neither here nor there. There were a few cereal options, some breads/bagels, a toaster, some very basic egg or sausage hot options.
There was also a lady with a cart doing (I think) some kind of salmon thing……. definitely not my thing! But sadly, if you want a hearty breakfast, iHop may be your best option here!
Wifi
As usual in Admirals Clubs, I found the Wifi to work very well. Oddly, they’ve started some weird passwords – instead of a destination, it was a product.
Showers
Surprisingly, or perhaps not, there is no showers in this lounge. This was a bit annoying, as I had flown in from Honolulu and there were no showers in the Admirals Club there either – and I was desperate to freshen up!
Conclusion
Sadly, given that this is supposed to be the ‘best’ Admirals Club in Phoenix – it is nowhere near close to the other Clubs in the US. I appreciate that American are limited with the space they have to work with – but the breakfast was well under-par, the decor pretty dated.
All in all, it’s decent place to stop for a few hours for a connection, to get some work done, or grab a snack – but I wouldn’t be getting to the airport too early to sample its joys!
With that said, compared to the other two I will review shortly, this was certainly the ‘best’!
