Queen Alia International Airport, Amman, Jordan
Neil Scrivener reviews the Plaza Premium Lounge in King Khalid International Airport, accessed by Plaza Premium membership, American Express or Priority Pass.
Introduction
This is my review of the Plaza Premium Lounge, which is located airside at Riyadh International Airport.
This lounge was available to me as I was flying with Royal Jordanian on Amman, so it seems that this lounge is also used for various airlines.

Entry Conditions
My understanding is that access can be granted by:
- Having Plaza Premium membership
- Having an American Express Platinum Card
- Having a Priority Pass
- Paying on the door, around $75USD
There may be other methods of entry too, such as Dragon Pass, etc.
Opening Times
The lounge is open 24hrs daily.
How to Get There
This is very easy to find!
Go to Gate 108 and you will see the signs for the Plaza Premium Lounge.
You can take an elevator or escalator up to the Mezzanine level, where you’ll find the entrance.
Once you’re at the top and checked in, you can go left or right!
Layout
On the left you’ll find a fairly quiet area, which is a relaxing area with a TV and various small ‘pods’.
On the right hand side, you will find a dining area and past the dining area, various casual and dining seating.
The pictures don’t quite do it justice, but it is a fairly spacious lounge and with various places to eat, relax and possibly sleep. However, there isn’t anywhere to work quietly – nor any printers.
Food and Drink
Drinks
Saudi Arabia is of course a Muslim country, and in their airline lounges there is no alcohol.
Across the lounge are various fridges with soft drinks, water and coffee stations. One annoyance, is I really don’t like Pepsi, and after a week in Saudi (which has Pepsi everywhere); a lack of Coke Zero was annoying!
Food
The food in the lounge was all self-service. Mostly, the food on offer was curries, rice, potatoes, fruits, cheeses and other bits and pieces. Nothing amazing – but not terrible either!
Wifi
The Wifi in the lounge I found to be reliable and fast. I had quite a few work things to do, and the Wifi was perfect for that purpose!
Showers
There are showers in this lounge. I didn’t visit them and there possibly is a charge to use them – although as I was flying in Business Class with Royal Jordanian that may have done a deal with the lounge.
Conclusion
This is a decent lounge, with a good amount of seating, quiet spaces, places to work – and a fairly decent selection of food and drink.
I wouldn’t say it’s the best lounge I’ve ever visited – but certainly can say I wouldn’t be disappointed to visit it again!
