Introduction
This is my review of the FinnAir Platinum Corner in Helsinki’s Vantaa Airport, which is operated by FinnAir.
This airport is actually located on the Schengen side of the airport. I had also hoped to visit the lounges in the non-Schengen area, however, for various complicated reasons this didn’t happen!
If you are a OneWorld member, there is the Business Class Lounge, located next to this lounge.

Opening Hours
The lounge is open daily from 05:00 until 23:30
Entry Conditions
My entry to this lounge was via my OneWorld Emerald membership; I believe this is the only way to access this lounge.
So even if you’re flying Business Class with FinnAir it’s not enough to get you in! It’s a member’s loyalty lounge only.
How to Get There
Once you’re through Security, make a heading to the right, towards Gate 21.
Once you are close to Gate 21, you should see an escalator (or elevator) which will take you up to a mezzanine level.

Once you’re at the Mezzanine level, Platinum Corner is on the right – which you can enter by self-scanning.

Layout
The lounge is very similar to the Business Class Lounge, albeit a lot smaller.
There is a fairly large dining area, which could also be used for working.

There are quite a few lounge seats, which overlook the apron of the airport – and are good for resting (or even sleeping) on.

There is also the semi-private ‘pods’, which are in the Business Class lounge and seem to have a resemblance to the business class seat on the A350.

Finally, there are two pods, which are available for calls. These are identical to the ones in the Business Class lounge – there are just less of them!

Food & Drinks
Drinks
All of the drinks in this lounge are self-service.
Like the Business Class Lounge, there are coffee machines, self-service soft drinks machines, and a small variety of beers and wines. I didn’t spot if the wines/champagnes were any different – but I’d doubt it.

Food
Like the Business Class lounge, I found to be pretty limited – and substantially the same.
There was a small mount of hot items, some fruit, cheeses, ham, bread, etc – but none of this was very substantial for a ‘Business Class plus’ (or First Class) lounge in my view.

Wifi
The Wifi, I found to be excellent. It was quick and easy to log on to – so that was really good.
Showers
This lounge has 2 showers – they looked great, but I didn’t use them.
I was (as I was in the Business Class lounge) intrigued about the reservation themebob on the outside. This meant in effect you could immediately reserve the shower and when you’ve finished stop the reservation.

Conclusion
This, like the Business Class lounge, has been well thought about, with various zones created and good places to eat, sleep, work, relax and take calls. The shower reservation system is also very interesting!
However, the food was very limited, and given this is supposed to be the Platinum Lounge and a ‘step up’ from the Business Class lounge, it was disappointing on the food front, for me.
