C-Gates, Terminal 1, Seattle-Tacoma Airport, Washington State (SEA)

Introduction

This is my review of the Alaska Airlines Lounge by C-Gates at Sea-Tac Airport (Seattle), which I visited when I took a connection from Seattle to Ontario.    

This was my first time flying with Alaska Airlines, so I was excited to see what they had to offer.

This is somewhat smaller than the lounge between and C and D gates – but I actually preferred it. 

Entry Conditions

Alaska are proudly OneWorld’s newest member, and therefore:

• Passengers traveling in First
• Passengers traveling in Business
• OneWorld Sapphire or Emerald members
• Possibly some of the various US Credit Cards – I can never work out which!

Opening Times

The lounge is open daily from 05:00 to 23:00.

How to Get There

I was heading out from C17 on my flight to Ontario; if you head down towards C-Gates, you’ll find this lounge close to C15.

There is clearly marked elevator which takes you up level to the lounge.

Layout

This lounge is a lot smaller to the lounge between C and D Gates. However, in many ways I preferred the layout.

There is plenty of casual seating, with a water feature around half way down the lounge.

Close to the bar there is a high table and more causal seating.

At the end of the lounge there is a bar, which I must say is far better positioned in terms of layout than the other lounge I reviewed.

Food and Drink

Food

The offering for lunch was salad or soup – and also some self-service items such as cookies, celery, carrots, crackers, etc. It was clear that the food it rather ‘basic’.

Drinks

On the drinks side, in a similar way to Admirals Clubs, there is some ‘standard’ and ‘premium’ drinks, the latter is paid for.  

There are self-service fountain drinks and coffee machines.

Wifi

The wifi was easily accessed and perfect for work emails – I didn’t download anything huge.

Showers

Unless I am wrong, there are no showers in this lounge.  

Conclusion

This lounge was a nice place to be. It didn’t have the work spaces C/D Gates did – but was in many respects laid out more nicely.  

However, if soup or salad isn’t your thing – you’ll probably need to visit another lounge – or go to a restaurant!
