Flight: Brussels to Munich

Airline: Brussels Airlines

Plane: A319

Cabin: Business

Seat: 1A

This Flight

This is another flight of my trilogy to and from Brussels.

I’d previously flown from Heathrow to Brussels on Swiss via Zurich. My return leg was via Munich. You can find my reviews on Swiss here, and my review on Lufthansa here.

This is a relatively short review.

Checking In

Checking in was a very easy process.

After negotiating my way to the desk, it was a swift walk to Security.

This flight was around lunchtime on a Sunday, in the school holidays – but despite that, Security was a dream. No queue before me, I literally walked through in seconds.

Well done Brussels Airport!

The Lounge

I have reviewed the Brussels Airlines Business Lounge separately; you can find that here.

I will say that it was one of the best European lounges I’ve been in! I was great! Read the review!

Boarding

Boarding the plane was fairly un-eventful, and didn’t involve any busses – so it was off to Munich very quickly!

The plane left a little late – which made my connection in Munich a little tight!

The Plane

This plane was Brussels’ A319, a modest sized plane – but it was very clean.

The Seat

I was sitting in 1A.

The Business Class cabin had just two rows of Business Class in this flight.

The seat was a standard seat, no different to TAP, Swiss and Lufthansa’s offerings. Once again, I had a bendy table!

One difference on this seat is that there was no charging for phones or other devices, which was a shame.

The legroom was pretty good for the type of seat and plane.

Food and Drink

I’ll start off by saying that before the food service took place, I was excited when I read the buy-on-board menu! I thought something good might be coming! In fairness, the prices seemed reasonable too!

Sadly, it wasn’t to be – the offering was a simple snack plate with cheese and fruit. This was the only option offered.

On the one hand, it was disappointing. However, having previously lambasted Swiss for their efforts – at least on this occasion there was something for everyone!

It’s a shame really and a bit of letdown, since the Lounge was so good! When I’m going to meetings, I often don’t have to time eat pre-flight, nor to visit a lounge – so for me, the food offering in transit is important – as it may be my only time to eat!

Brussels offered a variety of beers, wines, etc. I was quite happy with my Stella – enough said!

Amenities Kit

No Amenities Kit was offered on either flight, which is understandable given the relatively short flights.

Entertainment

No entertainment equipment was fitted.

Wifi

No wifi was available on either flight – but I may have missed something!

Cabin Crew

The Cabin Crew were nice and polite. However, the service felt robotic and a bit less polished than Swiss.

Again, sadly, nothing outstanding.

Landing

Landing into Munich, we were already late – so was lucky not to have any busses involved to make this tight connection!

You’ll find the final part of my trips’ trilogy here.

Conclusion

I’d be happy to travel Brussels Airlines again, the main driving force being able to re-access the great lounge again!

However, the seat didn’t have everything one may need as a business traveler – nor was the food was great.

Score

61 out of 84, which is 72% – mainly weighted by the Lounge!
