Terminal 4, Madrid Airport, Spain
Introduction
This is my review of Iberia’s Dali VIP Lounge in Madrid’s Terminal 4.
Madrid is Iberia’s home airport, so I was looking forward to what they had to offer – and I wasn’t disappointed!
Visit Date
September 2022 at 13:00
Opening Hours
The lounge is open daily from 06:00 to 23:00.
Entry Conditions
Entry to this lounge is granted by flying Iberia or other OneWorld carriers in First Class or Business Class – or to OneWorld Emerald and Sapphire members.
There is also a separate lounge at Terminal 4S which I could have also accessed, but the train to get there and back takes quite a while – so I’ll review it next time!
How to Get There
Assuming you’ve come through Security from Madrid, it’s clearly signposted, over a glass bridge and you can’t miss it!
Alternatively, if you’ve connected, you’ll need to walk through duty free, go up an elevator – and then there are signs which take you there. It’s not that straightforward if connecting, but I found it!
Layout
After checking in at the desks, you’re through to a lounge which is sort of split into two sections. There is something about the lounge that just looks high-end – perhaps its the rope and post!
Each of the sections is the same, offering both dining and casual seating. I have to say for the size of the lounge there is more dining seating then casual seating – which in my view is a good thing!
Dividing the two sections there is a bar area, with casual seating.
I didn’t find anywhere that I could work – and the signs which said working area were pointing towards high tables in the dining area.
The lounge was lacking any proper business area to take calls, or to sleep/relax, but I am mindful that T4 is a Schengen terminal (serving Europe) – and these kinds of areas may be more available in the T4S lounge which the international terminal.
One thing I do really like about this lounge is that no matter where you sit, there is somewhere to charge or plug in devices – which is a luxury sometimes overlooked!
Food and Drink
Food
One thing I really enjoyed about this lounge was the food – it was different in a good way.
Food is self-service, and in sort of round catering areas, one on each side of the lounge.
There was a good variety of hot food; including lasagnes, curries, rice, soups and some other Spanish dishes.
For those snacking there’re were crisps and nuts on the side, as well as olives and sandwiches.
There were also salad options available.
On the sweeter side there was a variety of ice creams, cakes, fruit and other deserts.
I was impressed with the food here – it was different in a good way!
Drinks
On the drinks side, you can either use the bar or the self-service drinks. The fridges had a decent variety of soft drinks and beers in them – as well as wines.
The bar had pretty much anything you could ever want – as did the self-service drinks.
Wifi
I was not given the password, but managed to get on the network. It seemed pretty good for general working and checking of emails.
Showers
I didn’t use the showers, but it seems they need to be booked through reception.
That said, they do exist!
Conclusion
I was really impressed with this lounge.
I thought the décor and layout is really good, the food very good, and a great variety of drinks on offer!
Hopefully I’ll visit the Terminal 4S lounge soon – but this lounge was very good indeed and I look forward to returning soon!
