Terminal B, LaGuardia Airport, New York

Introduction

This is my review of the American Express Centurion Lounge in LaGuardia’s Terminal B.

I’m a big fan of Centurion Lounges, and visited many across the US – including Philadelphia, Seattle, Las Vegas and Charlotte.

Opening Hours

The lounge is open Sunday to Friday from 05:00 to 18:00.

On Saturdays, it’s open from 05:00 to 17:00.

Entry Conditions

Entry to this lounge is with an American Express Platinum Card.

There may be other possibilities for entry, such as other American Express Cards – but access is not provided by any airline, nor can one pay for access.

How to Get There

Having checked in at Terminal B and gone through Security, head for Gates 40 to 59.

You’ll find the entrance before turning left to the Eastern Concourse.

Layout

This is a rather large lounge!

There are plenty of areas for relaxing with a drink – including the really great ‘pods’!

There is large dining area, close to the self-service food area.

There are a number of areas to work from, including a printer!

One of the things I really like about Centurion lounges is that they have rooms for calls and some quiet time. Unfortunately, these rooms can be abused by people – but it’s the thought that counts, right?

Food and Drink

Drinks

As usual, some of the drinks in the lounge (coffee, juices, etc) are self-service.

One thing the Centurion Lounge prides itself with (rightly so) is an extensive bar – and even though I was visiting at breakfast time, the wine list was available from 8:00 (or 10:00 on Sundays).

Food

Anyone who knows me will know that I don’t ‘do’ breakfast. In all honesty, I didn’t find too much that I wanted – but for ‘normal’ people who do like breakfast, I guess there was plenty of choice from hot/cold/healthy options!

As usual, Centurion lounges have a self-service food such as sausages, potatoes, french toast, tomatoes, etc – there is no menu to order from.

Wifi

The Wifi worked for me, and was fairly good during my visit, I was getting around 30mps up and down.

Showers

This lounge does have showers, 2 I believe – but they were in use during my visit, so I didn’t get a chance to look at them.

Conclusion

This is a very large lounge, but was extremely busy on the Thursday morning that I visited. With that said, this is New York, and there were a lot of people in the lounge – a mixture of business people and tourists.

That said, American Express didn’t let the side down with this great lounge!
