BOS – American Airlines Admirals Club – Boston Logan – Airport Lounge Review (OneWorld)

By Gate 4, Boston Logan Airport

Introduction

This is my review of the American Airlines Admirals Club in Boston’s Logan Airport‘s Terminal B.

Although American Airlines have flights from virtually every US airport, I wasn’t aware that Boston was that much of a Hub for them – although they have daily flights to Heathrow, and plenty of connections leaving Boston.

Opening Hours

The lounge is open daily from 04:00 to 20:30.

Entry Conditions

This is where I always get a bit confused!

OneWorld Sapphire or OneWorld Emerald members are in!

Flying ‘qualifying’ for access such as Transcontinental and Domestic, you’re in…….I think!

Admirals Club members are also in.

You may be able to pay on the door for around $79.

I am sure there are many other ways to gain access, but these are generally the ways you can get in.

How to Get There

Since I was connecting, I am not entirely sure how you get there from Security.

But in essence, if you’re in Terminal B, find Gate B4, and near to that you will find the usual glass door entrance to the lounge. Once you’re through the mysterious glass doors, you’ll find a friendly team on the desks.

Layout

This is a pretty big lounge, and impressively has quite a few different areas to relax, work and sleep in!

As usual, there is plenty of sofa and casual seating, dotted in a light and airy area overlooking the airport’s apron.

For eating or working, there is plenty of seating around the bar area, and also throughout the lounge.

There is also a fantastic working area, complete with pods for calls and a printer – this I thought was really good!

If you want somewhere more relaxing to go – you have two options. One is the TV room, which has the usual CNN, etc on the TV. Alternatively, there is a room of beds/sleeping pods.

Food & Drinks

Drinks

As with all Admirals Clubs, there are soft drinks with a full service bar for other drinks.

The full service bar had some drinks which were free, but other drinks were paid for from the menu..

Food

As usual, there are some very basic food items in the Admirals Clubs – and it seems, sadly, cheese cubes are long gone!

That aside there were the usual soups, salad items, etc available.

Usually Admirals Clubs have a menu for (paid) food, which I didn’t see – but it may have been available.

There was however complimentary avocado on toast (offered 07:00 to 10:00) and guacamole (offered from 15:00 to 18:00)……I say complimentary – but you probably need to tip the server!

Wifi

Unusually, I had a few problems accessing the Wifi in this lounge. It meant all kinds of messing around – but once I got through it, the Wifi worked perfectly.

Showers

I believe this lounge has one or two showers. The shower was free on my visit, the shower room was huge and the shower very hot!

Conclusion

This is a fantastic Admirals Club – and certainly one of the best I’ve been to.

The layout was great and well thought about – especially the working and relaxing/sleeping areas. Of course, Admirals Clubs are never going to offer the best of free food – but you can still be decently refreshed, and if you don’t mind paying, eat too.
