Introduction

This is my review of the British Airways Lounge at Glasgow’s International Airport (GLA).

Glasgow is of course a major city in Scotland, and serves (along side Edinburgh and Aberdeen) as a fairly major short-haul hub for flights going back to Heathrow or Gatwick for long-haul destinations – and of course London City.

For quite some time BA has never operated any flights from Glasgow internationally.

Opening Hours

The lounge is open daily from 05:30 until 21:00

Entry Conditions

My entry to this lounge was via my OneWorld Emerald membership.

Otherwise, access is available to OneWorld members with Sapphire status – and of course flying Business Class with British Airways.

How to Get There

Once you’re through Security, it’s a bit of a maze – but find Gate 15, and you’ll see the entrance to the lounge just next to it.

Layout

This lounge is typically one of BA’s smaller lounges, but nonetheless well thought about.

There is plenty of lounge seating for relaxing, eating and drinking.

Towards the buffet area there is a nice dining area.

There is also a business area…….complete with printer!

There is also a nice little Snug area, complete with faux fire and whiskey bar!

Food & Drinks

Drinks

As with most BA lounges of this size, drinks were self-service. There are coffee machines for tea and coffee, fridges with soft drinks, beers and wines – and of course the impressive whiskey bar!

There is also a sign staying Champagne is available on request – but I didn’t have any.

Food

All food is also self-service from the buffet.

The buffet had a great range of pies, sandwiches, cheeses, cakes, crackers, salads and various other offerings.

Wifi

As always, I found the Wifi in this lounge to be pretty fast and reliable – despite the fact it was pretty busy.

Showers

Being a domestic lounge, there were no showers in this lounge. So, if you are connecting a need a shower – Heathrow or Gatwick is probably your best bet!

Conclusion

This is a great lounge!

It has some nice areas, well thought about furniture, good food and drinks – and of course its well themed with its Whiskey bar! I also found the lounge staff to be very friendly and helpful, which was great too.

Well done BA on another great lounge !
