Introduction
This is my review of the FinnAir Business Class lounge in Helsinki’s Vantaa Airport, which is operated by FinnAir.
This airport is actually located on the Schengen side of the airport. I had also hoped to visit the lounges in the non-Schengen area, however, for various complicated reasons this didn’t happen!
If you are a OneWorld member, there is the Platinum Corner, located next to this lounge.

Opening Hours
The lounge is open daily from 05:00 until 23:30
Entry Conditions
My entry to this lounge was via my OneWorld Emerald membership.
I believe you can also access the lounge by;
- Being a OneWorld Sapphire Member
- Flying Business Class with FinnAir
How to Get There
Once you’re through Security, make a heading to the right, towards Gate 21.
Once you are close to Gate 21, you should see an escalator (or elevator) which will take you up to a mezzanine level.

Once you’re at the Mezzanine level, the Business Class lounge is on the left – which you can enter by self-scanning.

Layout
This lounge has lots of interesting spaces, and is quite large.
Around the buffet area, there is a large amount of dining seating – perfect for eating, or even working.

Overlooking the apron of the airport, there is a large amount of casual and sofa seating, in a variety of different types.

If you’re looking for something less bright and to relax or work from – there are a whole bunch of semi-private pods, which very similar to FinnAir’s Business Class seat on their A350.

And, if you are working and need some really quite space, or somewhere to take calls, there lots of ‘pods’ – which I think are brilliant!

Food & Drinks
Drinks
All of the drinks in this lounge are self-service.
There are coffee machines, self-service soft drinks machines, and a small variety of beers and wines.

Food
The food, I found to be pretty limited.
I arrived at breakfast time, and it was pretty basic. Apparently at 10:30, there is a transition to lunch, which was mainly salads and pasta. Really, I think the food offering was quite poor.

Wifi
The Wifi, I found to be excellent. It was quick and easy to log on to – so that was really good.
Showers
This lounge has about 4 or 5 showers – they looked great in quality, but I didn’t use them.
One thing that intrigued me is the outside reservation themebob on the outside. This meant in effect you could immediately reserve the shower and when you’ve finished stop the reservation.
What happens when the shower is in use, and if you can reserve it to be ‘the next’ I am not sure – but certainly this was a technical innovation whichever way you look at it!

Conclusion
In many respects, this is an absolutely excellent lounge. It is well designed, has lots of areas, has well-thought about ‘zones’, including ‘zones’ for relaxing, sleeping/relaxing and working – as well as general eating and lounging.
What was a real let down (for me) was the catering. Breakfast was very poor indeed, as was lunch. This may be redeemed by the drinks – but either way, for me, I was wanting for better food from this otherwise excellent lounge.
