Terminal 1, Hong Kong Airport, Chek Lap Kok
Introduction
This is my review of Cathay Pacific’s The Wing, First – which is the First Class Lounge in Hong Kong’s International Airport.
There are other lounges available at Hong Kong, however, when I visited Hong Kong had only just re-opened – and therefore they were slowly re-opening the lounges.
I will return to review Hong Kong’s other lounges!
Visited
18th December 2022, around 11am.
Opening Hours
The lounge is open from 05:30 until last departure.
Entry Conditions
I was able to get in using my OneWorld Emerald status, and brought a colleague in with me.
The lounge is of course open to those flying First Class with Cathay Pacific, or First Class with other airlines operating from Hong Kong – such as British Airways and/or Qatar Airlines.
How to Get There
Once through Security, take an immediate left (on Level 7), and you’ll find the entrance in front of you.

Otherwise, the lounge is close Gates 1-4 on Level 7.
Layout
This is a great lounge, and huge in size!
There are many find and explore areas, and I believe I found them all!
In the ‘main lounge’ there are a variety of seating areas, with casual seating.

Another area is the ‘deli’ area, which has some great views overlooking the apron of the airport.

Of course, no Cathay Pacific Lounge would be without its a la carte restaurant!

If you’re needing to do some work, there is a great little business area.

Also, rather uniquely, there are cabanas. I am not sure how many there are, (possibly around 6) – and these are complete with lounge area, sofa bed, bath and small bathroom. Exactly how these are booked I am not sure – but they are really nice, and available when I went to them!

Food and Drink
Drinks
In the ‘main lounge’ there is a bar well stocked with an extensive range of drinks.

In the ‘deli’ area there is a barista station, and self-service drinks.

Food
As I mentioned above, the lounge has it’s classic restaurant. I managed to find both the breakfast and lunch/dinner menus.

Sadly, I didn’t make the lunch – but I did grab some noodles for breakfast which were pretty good. I also liked the little mask store provided by the lounge – a nice little detail!

If you’re after something less sophisticated, there is a ‘deli’ which has some cooked options, such as toasties and other snacks.

Alternatively, there were some self-service options too.

All in all there was something for everyone!
Wifi
The Wifi worked for me, and was fairly good during my visit, I was getting around 35mps up and down.
Showers
Like the Cabanas, the showers were extremely impressive, and contained all the amenities you might need!

Conclusion
This is a fantastic lounge, and easily one of the best in the world!
Cathay Pacific are reputed for their excellent quality of lounges, and this is clearly the pinnacle of those. I look forward going back to Hong Kong to explore the rest!
