Terminal 4, London Heathrow Airport, United Kingdom
Neil Scrivener reviews the Plaza Premium Lounge in Terminal 4 of London Heathrow Airport, accessed by American Express.
Introduction
This is my review of the Plaza Premium Lounge in Terminal 4 of Heathrow Airport, United Kingdom
The lounge is one of two available in Terminal 4 of Heathrow Airport, if you have an American Express.

Entry Conditions
My understanding is that access can be granted by:
- Having Plaza Premium membership
- Having an American Express Platinum Card
- Paying on the door, around $75USD
The lounge seems to partner with various airlines departing from Terminal 4, such as WestJet and Air France.
There may be other methods of entry too, such as Dragon Pass, etc.
Opening Times
The lounge is from 05:00 until 22:00.
How to Get There
Once out of Security make a right and head towards Gate 10A/10B.
You’ll see the duty free shop on your right and clear signage just after. From here head down the corridor.
You’ll see the entrance in front of you – but don’t be fooled, this isn’t the Etihad Lounge – that is downstairs!
Layout
The lounge has a fairly impressive layout and overlooks the apron of the airport.
On thing that is quite surprising is unlike many lounges, there wasn’t that much sofa seating; instead more causal seating with high tables was preferred – which in my view is a good thing as it offers flexibility.
For more formal dining, there is a fairly large dining area near the buffet.
There are also ‘pods’ for working from and charging devices. However, there are no real working areas, anywhere to take calls, or a printer.
Food and Drink
Drinks
Unlike the Terminal 2 and Terminal 5 lounges, this Lounge does not have a bar and everything is self-service.
There is a fairly decent selection of alcoholic drinks such as wines, beers and spirits – and even a beer tap.
Alternatively, and as my visit was at 7am, by the buffet area there are coffee, soda fountains and ice machines.
Food
Breakfast isn’t my favourite meal of the day – but despite this, there was a HUGE range of food available, including some of the best roast potatoes I’ve ever had!
Other food available at 7am included pastries, cheeses, salads, etc. As someone who ‘doesn’t do’ breakfast, there was plenty even for me!
Wifi
The Wifi in the lounge I found to be pretty good. I had a whole pile of work to do including banking and other file-heavy work, and had no issues at all with the Wifi which was good!
Showers
I believe there are showers in this lounge, but there is charge for them. Possibly not if your access is with an airline (as opposed to Card).
Conclusion
I am usually fairly critical about Plaza Premium lounges, but this is an extremely good one! The layout is well thought about, the drinks good and the food very good! I am keen to return at some point for lunch/dinner!
