Terminal 3, Heathrow Airport, London
Introduction
This is my review of the Qantas Lounge in Heathrow’s Terminal 3. The Qantas Lounge is known as one of the ‘better’ lounges in Terminal 3, and there are a HUGE range of lounges to choose from!
The lounge offers both a la carte dining and a buffet – although the a la carte is only available at certain times. Having visited the Qantas First (and Qantas Business) in Singapore’s Changi Airport many times, I was excited to see what the Qantas Lounge in Heathrow had to offer.

Opening Hours
The lounge is open daily from 08:00 to 21:00
Entry Conditions
My entry to this lounge was because I am a OneWorld Emerald member, and happened to by flying with JAL on a positioning flight, however Sapphire members can also access the lounge.
Access can also be granted through flying Business Class or First Class with any OneWorld carrier.
Unless I stand corrected, I believe that the a la carte dining is available to anyone who can enter the lounge.
How to Get There
After coming from Security, look for the signs that say “Airline Lounges”., or follow the signs for Gates 13-22. The lounge is called “Lounge B”, and you’ll immediately see the entrance.
Layout
The lounge has two ‘areas’ to it – Upstairs and Downstairs.
Layout – Upstairs
The upstairs are of the lounge features a large central cocktail bar, casual seating, and dining seating. There is also where the showers are.
Layout – Upstairs
The downstairs layout is essentially a restaurant with lots of dining tables and a large bar.
Food and Drink
Upstairs
Upstairs there is a lack cocktail bar, which offers a number of cocktails, beers and wines.
I’ve been to the upstairs buffet for both breakfast and lunch/dinner, and I have to say that I wasn’t that impressed by the options available.
On the breakfast side all the things you need for a full English breakfast were available, as well as pastries, muffins, cereals, etc. Lunch/dinner seemed to be a bit more sparse (possibly because there is the expectation most will go a la carte); but still had some curries, rice, sandwiches, fruit and some deserts.
Downstairs
The drinks from the downstairs are served from the bar – this includes gin, sparking wines, Australian wines and of course beer and soft drinks.
The food downstairs doesn’t start until 16:00 and is a mixture of a la carte and from a buffet station – essentially, all the food options are listed on the menu; and the items not at the buffet are offered a la carte.
Having got to the lounge around 15:30, I decided to wait for the menu to come out – but when it did, I didn’t fancy that much on it, so went for the mozzarella, before heading to grab a burger in the Cathay Pacific lounge. That’s probably more taste than anything else, and I am sure if you’re a salt & pepper squid lover, or like DIY chicken the food is probably great!
I have to say the service in the a la carte section was very good indeed, regular refills of wine, regular checkins, etc – this was like dining in a very good restaurant.
Wifi
The lounge Wifi I found to be very good and reliable.
Showers
There are around 3 showers in the upstairs part of the lounge. They were free on my visit, but I would guess tend to get booked up when the lounge is much busier.
Conclusion
In many respects this is a very good lounge. It has a high standard of decor, a good layout, great range of drinks, reliable Wifi and showers!
In my case, I wasn’t that fussed about the food in this lounge, but that’s probably more personal preference. However, there’s no doubt this is one of the best lounges in Heathrow’s Terminal 3!
