LHR Heathrow – Terminal 2 – Aer Lingus Lounge – Airline Lounge Review

Terminal 2, Heathrow Airport, London

Last Visit: May 2024, at 06:00

Introduction

This is my review of the Aer Lingus Lounge in Heathrow’s Terminal 2 (the Queen’s Terminal).

This was the final one on my list – so I have now officially visited and reviewed all the lounges in Heathrow’s Terminal 2 now, across all airlines and methods of getting in!

Entry Conditions

Access to this lounge is not easiest to work out:

  • Flying Business Class with Aer Lingus gets you in – but I don’t believe Aer Lingus operate any Heathrow routes in Business Class?
  • If you have an Advantage or Aerfare, you can visit
  • AerClub silver members can visit
  • Bank of Ireland Mastercard Gold holders can visit
  • You can pay to visit

In my case, it was a bit different. I was flying a British Airways codeshare flight, operated by Aer Lingus – but I am a OneWorld Emerald member.

Seemingly, OneWorld Emerald/BA Gold members can use the lounge on a BA codeshare, but OneWorld Sapphire/BA Silver members can’t.

Opening Times

The lounge is open daily between 05:00 and 22:00.

How to Get There

Rather simply, take a right out from security, walk all the way along the mezzanine level (Level 5) – and you’ll find it at the end!

✈️ Aer Lingus Lounge at Heathrow Terminal 2 – A hidden gem or just another airline lounge? 🛋️ With comfortable seating, a variety of food options, and a relaxed atmosphere, this lounge provides a solid pre-flight experience. 🍽️✨ While it may not be the most extravagant, it offers a decent place to unwind. Does it stand out, or is it just another stop? ✨

Layout

This is a very nice lounge in terms of decor and cleanliness. It’s not huge but it certainly has a good amount of seating and places to eat and work.

The lounge has a large amount of casual/sofa seating.

There are also various desks and tables for working or eating.

There are also two (recently upgraded) booths/pods for working and taking calls in. These are really fantastic!

Food and Drink

Food

I visited the lounge between about 06:00 and 07:15 (breakfast time)……and if you’re expecting a hot breakfast, be prepared to be disappointed!

Some cereal, crisps, pretzels, some pastries, some crackers, some cheese and some biscuits were all that was on offer. Not even any toast!

Personally, this suited me fine! In fact, I like this kind of breakfast! But I can see if you are a ‘normal’ breakfast eater, you’re likely to be very disappointed!

Drinks

Drinks again were all self-service. Coffee machines, fridges of soft drinks – and of course Guinness. No comments on if I tried a Guinness at 06:30 – but I was hoping to get a good sleep on my flight over to Ireland!

Wifi

The Wifi in this lounge I found to work fairly well, though it was slow at times – and there was hardly anyone else in the lounge.

Showers

Surprisingly, there are two showers in this lounge! They’re slightly clinical, but I was surprised to see them, and it’s well noted for next time!

Conclusion

This is a really nice lounge with great decor and seating.

Whilst I’ve only been in for breakfast, I can’t imagine lunch/dinner is too imaginative – but if you’re happy eating crisps and drinking Guinness, it’s a great place to do it. Hopefully, sometime in the future I’ll return to find out what’s for lunch/dinner and drink more Guinness.

I am not sure I could recommend paying on the door for entry, and if you are minded to pay – then the Plaza Premium Lounge down stairs may be a better option on the food front!
