Terminal 4, Heathrow Airport

Introduction

This is my review of the Qatar Airways Premium Lounge in Heathrow’s Terminal 4.

The last time I flew from Heathrow to Doha was from Terminal 5 – so I was excited to see what Qatar’s Terminal 4 lounges had to offer!

This is a great lounge, and is of standard Qatar Airlines high quality – although it is a little on the small side.

Opening Hours

The lounge is open daily from 05:00 to 22:00.

Entry Conditions

Access to this lounge is strictly for those traveling on Qatar Airways in Business or First Class.

Passengers not traveling in Business or First, but hold lounge access with OneWorld status, are required to go to the Frequent Flyer Lounge – which is essentially under this lounge.

How to Get There

Once through Security take a left turn and head towards the end of the terminal.

You’ll find the entrance next to Gate 1b, or opposite Gate 6.

Once you’re through the entrance, you’ll find a desk where you’re be greeted by an agent.

You’ll be going through the door on the right hand side, and a corridor will take you into the lounge.

Layout

This lounge is fairly big but not huge – however it is a lot bigger than the Frequent Flyer Lounge, which is downstairs.

Although the decor is nice and modern, the shape of lounge lends itself to be a bit awkward.

There is a fair amount of lounge seating within the lounge, albeit slightly strangely shaped!

Towards the ‘end’ of the lounge, there is a dining area next to the deli, as well as a more formal ‘restaurant’ area.

In all honesty the dining layout was a little strange – but I have the feeling that it was designed with what they had to work with!

That is pretty much it for the lounge!

I didn’t find anywhere to work or anywhere to relax/sleep. In fact, there was no business centre in this lounge – so when I did need to print something, I was directed downstairs to the Frequent Flyer Lounge.

Food and Drink

Drinks

As one may expect with Qatar Airways, there was an impressive range of drinks. These were either self-service or ordered from the menu (which is accessed via QR Code).

Alternatively, highly imoressive the deli offered a barrista service and other drinks.

Food

There are two main ways to grab food in the Premium Lounge.

The first is off the menu – either seated in the restaurant or around the deli. When I visited, it was breakfast time – but you van see the lunch/dinner menu also, below.

Alternatively, there is an extremely impressive deli area – which had a huge variety of offerings!

Wifi

The Wifi worked for me, and was fairly good during my visit, I was getting around 25mps up and down.

Showers

One big bottleneck in this lounge did seem to be the toilets. Minutes before the flight was due to board, there suddenly became a long queue outside the ladies!

With that said, there didn’t seem to be the same problem with the gents – and I had a quick look around at the showering facilities.

Naturally, as one would expect with Qatar Airways – these were of great quality, with some high quality products!

Conclusion

This is a great lounge! It is high-end, has great food options, the deli is great – and it looks high end.

The layout of the lounge is a tad strange, but this is owed really to the space available.

Other than that, it’s very good indeed!
