Terminal 4, Madrid Airport, Spain
Introduction
This is my review of the Plaza Mayor Lounge in Madrid’s International Airport.
The lounge is the only other lounge in Terminal 4, aside from the Iberia Lounge. It is operated by Aena, who also operate the lounge at Barcelona’s Terminal 1.
I accessed this lounge using my Priority Pass.

Opening Hours
The lounge is open daily from 05:00 to 22:00.
Entry Conditions
In my case I accessed the lounge using my Priority Pass, however, I believe there are paid-for options too.
What other entry options there are, I’m not sure.
How to Get There
I think it safe to say, I found Madrid’s Airport some what difficult to navigate!
Once out of security you’re need to head down the escalators.
From here, you’re through duty free shops towards the food court – see the VIP signs.
The easiest way I can explain it from here, is that it’s next door do McDonalds!
Layout
The layout of this lounge is light and airy, with a modern feel. However the lounge is modest in size.
Mainly, the lounge consists of casual seating, overlooking various parts of the airport.
One area I rather liked was a large desk with working areas, charging etc. There was nowhere quiet to take calls.
And that’s pretty much it!
Food and Drink
Drinks
On the drinks side, everything was self-service when I visited. There is no bar – but there are some huge fridges with varieties of soft drinks and beers. The same with hot drinks – self-serve coffee machines.
On the heavier side, there is a nicely themed bar area with self-service red and white wines, and some sparkling wines.
Food
I didn’t find anything ‘traditionally hot’ unlike the Iberia Lounge, but there were a large variety of different dishes.
For accompanying the many wines on offer, there were some olives, nuts, and other savory snacks.
On the sweeter side, I found fruits and pastries.
Wifi
I used the Wifi and found it to be pretty good, it certainly seemed reliable.
Showers
There are some showers here, but using them needed to be requested from the front desk.
Conclusion
Despite its modest size, I thought this was a great lounge!
The food was varied and good (though missing hot options), there was a huge variety of drinks, and nice variety of snacks.
All in all, it’s a great lounge – and similarly to the one in Barcelona I was really impressed!
