Introduction

This is my review of the Alaska Airlines Lounge at Sea-Tac Airport (Seattle) which I visited when I took an internal flight from Seattle to Ontario.    

This was my first time flying with Alaska Airlines, so I was excited to see what they had to offer.

Seemingly this is the larger of the 3 lounges have at Seattle’s Tacoma Airport, I visited this and also the C-Gates lounge.  

Opening Times

The lounge is open daily from 05:00 to 22:00.

Entry Conditions

Alaska are proudly OneWorld’s newest member, and therefore access is available to:

• Passengers traveling in First
• Passengers traveling in Business
• OneWorld Sapphire or Emerald members
• Possibly some of the various US Credit Cards – I can never work out which!

How to Get There

Very simply, assuming you are checking in at C-Gates, once through Security; head between C and D Gates, and you’ll find the door to the lounge.

There was a little bit of a queue to get into the Lounge, but it moved very quickly compared to the Centurion Lounge!

Layout

This particular lounge is over two floors, with a VERY large staircase – if you don’t fancy the elevators!

Most of the lounge is casual seating with coffee style tables – and a few dining tables. There is also a very large fireplace in the downstairs section! 

Upstairs, there is a slightly strangely positioned bar, as well as self-service coffee and soda machines!

Downstairs is more of a working area, with plenty of workstations with charging points. I was really impressed by the working setup provided! I’d be happy to work from here all the time!

There are great views over the airport, and of planes literally next to the windows!

Food and Drink

Food

Starting with the food.

I’d got to the lounge slightly between breakfast and lunch. The offering for lunch was salad or soup – and also some self-service items such as fruit, cookies, celery, carrots, crackers, etc. You’re not going to get a 3-course meal here.

Drinks

On the drinks side, in a similar way to Admirals Clubs, there is some ‘standard’ and ‘premium’ drinks, the latter is paid for.  

There are self-service fountain drinks and coffee machines.

Wifi

The wifi was easily accessed and perfect for work emails – I didn’t download anything huge.

Showers

Unless I am wrong, there are no showers in this lounge.  

Conclusion

This lounge was a nice place to be. It was relatively quiet (unlike C-Gates, where it was hard to find a seat) – and had great views – and really great working spaces!  

However, it was 12pm when I visited, I wanted something a little more substantial for lunch – so soup or salad was rather disappointing!

This lounge is comparable to an Admirals Club – if you’re expecting a 3-course lunch or dinner, you may need to find another lounge! Otherwise, there are plenty of restaurants to choose from in Seattle’s Terminal 1!
