Introduction
This is my review of the rather amazing Qantas First Lounge in Singapore’s Changi Airport.
Having come from the Qantas Business Lounge, I was already extremely impressed. Qantas have got it down to a tee when it comes to their lounges, and this was nothing short of exceptional.
Perhaps a more objective way to look at this lounge is as a good quality restaurant, rather than an airline lounge?

Opening Hours
The lounge is open daily between around 14:30 until 23:00, however this can be later if any Qantas flights are delayed.
Perhaps, a less technical answer from the Qantas website is “Lounge operating hours are four hours before each Qantas operated service until the last Qantas departure.”
Entry Conditions
This lounge is open to passengers flying First Class on Qantas, or I would guess any other OneWorld Airline with First Class cabins.
Alternatively, the lounge is open to OneWorld Emerald members – and this lounge is good!
How to Get There
Taking a right out of Passport Control, you’ll see some escalators, with the Qantas First Lounge well signposted.
Once you’re up the escalators, you’ll see the lounge on the right-hand side.
Layout
The main feature about this lounge is the fact it’s more like a huge reastaurant!
Dining seating here goes on for ever, and all the seating is of extremely good quality – as is the decor!
If you’re visiting just to chill out, there is also a lot of casual seating too!
Alternatively, I found that there were plenty of places to work from – such as high-tables or an office area. There was even a printer!
With that said, for doing Zoom calls (which Americans LOVE doing in lounges, !!!!VERY LOUDLY!!!!), I didn’t see anywhere to do this quietly.
I also didn’t really any sleeping pods – or anywhere to quietly sleep whilst waiting. This is something I would have thought would be popular if Singapore is your stopover point. I could of course be mistaken on that!
Food and Drink
As far as I can work out…..and I could be wrong; all drinks come from the bar, or are served to you in the restaurant. As far as I can see, there is only a served restaurant experience available, and there is no buffet – but if you want a buffet, you can get that in the Qantas Business lounge.
Drinks
Drinks in the lounge are either served with your meal, or you can order at the bar. I won’t type out the whole menu – but you can see there is an excellent range of cocktails, cold drinks, Australian wines – and a great selection of beer!
Food
On my previous visit to the lounge I didn’t have time to eat, as I needed to head back to Terminal 3. However, my visit in January 2024 was connected to a down-route stay in Singapore – so I was able to access the lounge.
I was SO glad I did! The menu was great (even if you don’t like fish), and the food extremeley good (sorry about the fuzzy photo)!
I chose the Buffalo Mozzerlla to start, the Grilled Chicken (with a bowl of chips) as my main, and for desert I had the Chocolate Lamington (with ice cream). All the food I had was absolutely faultless, I enjoyed it immensely. Not only was is it great tasting – but it also was presened in a top-quality way; it was like being in a high-end restaurant.
Service
Service isn’t something I often write about when it comes to lounges, but it’s something that was fantastic in this lounge. The (and I am not sure I want to use the word waiters), servers were extremely good – again like being in a high-end restaurant. They carefully kept an eye on my drinks, offered refills consistantly, was interested to know where I was going and what I was doing in Singapore, and so forth.
Wifi
The wifi was extremely fast and reliable, I had no issues connecting or using it.
Showers
There are around 12 to 14 showers in this lounge, which makes perfect sense. I sadly didn’t get to see one – but I was given a TGI Fridays-style buzzer to wait for one. In the end, time prevailed and I had to leave.
Conclusion
This lounge is easily one of the best in the world – or perhaps a joint second with the Cathay Pacific Lounge in Heathrow! It’s like a restaurant, has seating for every need, and of course has showers – it’s great! Unless I am mistaken, it’s perhaps missing sleeping areas – but it’s very good indeed!
At some point, now it’s open, I will get back to review the Qantas Lounge at LAX for a comparison – it was closed last time.
As the Australians would say – “it’s bloody good”!
